Welcome to The Short Way In

The Short Way In will launch on the ColoursTV network soon.  It is a new show about independent film, and the film industry.  It also acts as a showcase for independent film makers and features interviews with industry experts who give advice to indy film makers on how to get into the biz.

The Short Way In To Air Shortly:

Episode One of the Short Way In will begin airing on Colours TV  on the Dish Network and select Comcast Markets.  It will also be available nationwide through Comcast Video On Demand, and will be available on this website in High Definition, and ready for download to your PSP, Video IPod or other portable multimedia player.

This first Episode includes a segment about the new film Marilyn Hotchkiss Ballroom Dancing & Charm School, out in theaters March 31st.  This film started as an AFI student short film and was eventually incorporated into the feature film over a decade later.  It features a great cast, and we have interview segments with Robert Caryle, Marisa Tomei and Director Randall Miller.  We also feature a documentary about indy film makers trying to get a script to Johnny Depp.

We talk to Director Haylar Garcia about this project and show the first scene of the documentary, which is actually the first scene of that same script.  Emmy Award winning composer Wes Boatman, and CEO of Shoreline Entertainment, Morris Ruskin join us with advice to Indy Film makers.  Also, Inktip's Jerrol LeBaron offers advice to writers in this episode.  And we have a Tech segment about HDV, a brief overview of this new technology.

We want to hear from you!
